The misnamed “Reproductive Health Act” is moving quickly through the Illinois Legislature.

The Illinois House just today passed the “Reproductive Health Act” (now housed in Senate Bill 25) by a 64-50 vote, with four lawmakers voting “present.” Read our statement here, and see how your state representative voted here.

The bill now heads to the Senate, where the goal is to pass it before Friday, which is the scheduled end of the legislative session. Gov. J.B. Pritzker has already said that he will sign the bill into law.

As a reminder, the “Reproductive Health Act” goes further than Roe v. Wade in eliminating rights for the unborn child. The legislation specifically states: “A fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus does not have independent rights under the laws of this State.”

We will post updates on the “Reproductive Health Act” on our Facebook page and Twitter feed.

Thank you for your support.
