Feast of St. Marciana of Mauretania, virgin martyr from Mauretania Caesariensis (now Algeria). During the Diocletianic persecution of Christians, she was thrown to wild beasts in the amphitheatre of Caesarea. Died in 303.  Patron – invoked to cure wounds.
